Butterfly and I worked out tonight. The gym in the hotel we’re at has the most amazing workout machines! Did the elliptical for a half hour; we were going to go swimming, but the pool suddenly filled up with a bunch of screaming 6-year-olds.

    Pass.

So we’re relaxing in the room with some drinks, and we’ll go swimming later.

Butterfly and I walked all around the UNF campus today, visited the Osprey bookstore, and ate lunch at the Osprey CafĂ©. I must admit that UNF has a pretty nice campus–albeit a small one.

Butterfly is handling leaving her oldest all the way up here in Jacksonville remarkably well, considering the circumstances–although she readily admits that she’s going to be a weepy, blubbering mess when he drops us off at the train station tomorrow morning.

Not 24 hours after I resurrected The Corsair Journal, I stumble across this article on cnn.com:

The coming-out stories of anonymous bloggers

Blog fans in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, saw PittGirl as their masked superhero — a comedian and local commentator who jibed the mayor without reserve and ranted freely about her hatred of pigeons.

But despite her effort to keep her real name secret, people started to figure out who PittGirl was.

Feeling pressure to take control of her identity before someone else outed her, PittGirl on Wednesday posted pictures of herself on her blog and introduced readers to her real-world self: Virginia Montanez, a 35-year-old married mother of two who worked in the nonprofit sector.

“My friends and family call me Ginny,” she wrote on her blog. “But you can continue to call me Your Majesty, because I’ve grown accustomed.”

On Thursday morning, Montanez was fired from her job because of her online persona, she said.

    Ouch.

The article goes on to chronicle how online personas can be legally gleaned, if someone wants to know bad enough. Scary stuff.

Sometimes I think about having a public journal, like Spring or Sean. In fact, Sean just asked me today if he could reference my journal in his using my real name.

Sean, after reading this article, the answer is a resounding no. I’ll take my chances and try to remain anonymous.

Butterfly and I took our stepson up to the University of North Florida and checked him into his dorm. We’re currently relaxing at the Sheraton up the street–boy oh boy, was it ever hot!

Conman, if you’re reading this, how do I auto-publish my entries via RSS-feed into my Livejournal?

That’s right. The Corsair Journal is back.

It’s been about a year since I made my last entry on my journal at Livejournal. When I made that entry, I thought I was done ‘blogging’ (I hate that word) for good, but I discovered two things:

    1) I missed it. A lot.
    2) Facebook is a very poor substitute for a real journal.

So I’m back. I’d be more verbose, and maybe write more, but I’m really tired. And I have to go up to Jacksonville in the morning to take my stepson to college.
